“Maywa Denki” is an artistic unit produced by Novmichi Tosa. In the style of small and medium-sized enterprises that supported Japan’s rapid economic growth in the 1950s to 1970s, they develop various nonsense machines and show them in live performances and exhibitions. The instruments and goods developed by “Maywa Denki” can be bought at their fun store in Akihabara.
The store's popular products include the adorable "Otamatone," the "Rubber Bass," and a slightly unconventional musical instrument known as the "SUSHI BEAT." Additionally, customers get the opportunity the opportunity to touch and try out these items in the store before making a purchase.
"Otamatone" is an electronic musical instrument shaped like a musical note. It has garnered attention through appearances on TV programs and video sites, attracting numerous foreign tourists to the store. To cater to both domestic and international fans, the shop offers a selection of adorable retro "Maywa Denki" merchandise. Among these, the humorous blouson modeled after Japan's classic blue work uniform stands out as particularly popular.
