One significant characteristic of the JCII Camera Museum is that there are exhibits pertaining to all phases of the worldwide history of photography. In the Special Exhibition section, there are various types of camera from around the world. Also included are “classic”, “masterpiece”, and “curio” cameras. The world’s first ever camera – the Giroux Daguerreotype camera – and “Japanese Historical Cameras” from Japan’s first mass-produced cameras to present-day digital cameras are displayed throughout the year.

In addition to the permanent camera exhibition, the museum holds special exhibitions of cameras from around the world, exploring various themes and the fascinating history and development of cameras.
