Imperial Palace・ Tokyo Sta.・ Hibiya Soto Sakurada-mon Gate
Widely known as the Sakurada-Mon Gate. It is one of the few castle gates with a Masugata (rectangular space between the inner and outer gates) intact. In 1860, the chief minister was assassinated outside the gate by samurai.
It was a famous and dramatic episode in Japanese history.
