This area used to be the crossing point of 5 important highways. Gourmet restaurants which can please the palate of any Tokyoite started popping up one after the other in this busy neighbourhood. Many of the stores have preserved a traditional aesthetic. Safe from the wartime fires, they continued in the same spaces without rebuilding.
