An intense theatrical space where Bunraku and images are fused
A New Challenge of the National Theatre
We challenge the new project, employing animation instead of the stage settings for "Sonezaki Shinjū," one of Bunraku's masterpieces.
KIRITAKE Kanjūrō, a living national treasure, supervises the performance. And OGA Kazuo, the art director of the Studio Ghibli films "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Princess Mononoke," works on the scenography.
