"Setsubun-sai Tsuinashinji " The ceremony to welcome spring
Bean-Throwing at Setsubun(the day before the beginning of spring) is the auspicious event that drives evil spirit away and welcomes happniness and luck.
At Hie-Jinja-Shrine, "Setsubunsai-Tsuinasiki" will be held to pray for everyone's well-being as an auspicious precedent.
It's free to see this event on the day.
In Edo period, Hie-jinja was well known as a guardian deity of Tokugawa Shoguns' birthplace and was called "Sannno-sama".
The sacred monkey statues enshrined inside the main sanctuary are known to remove evil and bring you good fortune for love, business, pregnancy, traffic safety and so on.
