  • I want to know the current cherry blossom forecast.
    You can check blossom conditions using the Blossom Forecast or Chidori-ga-fuchi Live Webcam on our official Chiyoda City Sakura Festival homepage.
  • Are there any places where we can picnic under the sakura?
    Yes, there are designated spots where visitors can lay down a tarp or sheet and enjoy the sakura while picnicking. As space is limited, please make sure to accommodate those around you. Please make sure to follow the rules below.

    Locations open to picnicking
    ・Chidori-ga-fuchi Park -- Markers have been placed to indicate park boundaries. Please use the area on the side nearest the road.

    You may use the benches at the following sites to have a light snack
    ・Kitanomaru Garden
    ・East Garden of the Imperial Palace
    ・Kokyogaien National Garden
    ・Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way (except when crowded)
    ・Diet Front Garden
    *Please make sure to take your garbage with you.
  • Are there any rules we must follow when picnicking in the permitted areas?
    Rules for picnicking under the Cherry Blossoms.
    1. Use of machinery (including power generators) or noise-emitting devices such as karaoke players is prohibited in the parks.
    2. Please bring your garbage with you when you leave.
    3. Do not use tarps or sheets to save a spot in the park.
    4. Do not use spikes to fix your tarp to the ground.
    5. Behavior that may harm or damage the park's trees is prohibited.
    6. Food carts or other unlicensed vending are prohibited in the parks.
    7. Behavior that may offend or disturb fellow picnickers or the surrounding community is prohibited.
    Please make sure to observe the above rules when picnicking.
  • Are there any food carts or stalls?
    No stalls.
  • I heard there is a spot where we can rent a boat and look at the sakura from the water. Where is it and how much does it cost? Who can I contact to learn more?
    You can rent boats at the Chidori-ga-fuchi Boat Pier.。

  • Where are the most famous places to see sakura?
    There are numerous locations around Chiyoda that are perfect for viewing sakura. However, if you would like to experience a tunnel-like canopy of sakura blossoms, while boats float quietly in the adjacent moat, we recommend the Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way.

  • Are there any traffic regulations for the roads around Chidori-ga-fuchi?
    The road along the Chidorigafuchi Greenway will be closed to traffic from 9:00 to 22:00 during the Sakura Festival. Vehicles visiting the facility in the green road can pass. Thank you for your cooperation. Click here for details.

  • Are there any restrictions for entering the Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way or for the direction visitors must walk?
    Please cooperate with traffic on the left side of the Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way. In addition, in order to avoid congestion, you may be asked to wait to enter at the direction of the security guard.
  • Is there tour bus parking available at the Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way?
    There is no parking available at the Chidori-ga-fuchi Green Way.
    ・For visitors going to Yasukuni-jinja Shrine, please use the designated bus parking at the shrine.
