Fluffy and soft taste of eels with steaming before grilling. At Edomae Unagi Unasei, you can taste the highest quality eel in Japan.
Edomae Unagi Unasei is located on the second floor of Arcadia Ichigaya, two-minute walk from Ichigaya Station. This is an eel specialty restaurant that serves Kanto-style Edomae eels, cooked using the traditional method of "steaming before grilling". You can enjoy eel dishes that combine the softness and aroma that steaming can provide.

Going into the restaurant from the impressive entrance decorated with Japanese umbrellas, you can see the clean, comfortable space. Inside the restaurant, there are 44 table seats and nine counter seats allowing you to enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere. You can separate a room with a noren curtain and use the room as a semi-private room.

Eels served at Edomae Unagi Unasei are the highest quality Japanese eels that are raised with clear water and carefully selected feed. The sweet soy sauce based eel sauce, made with Higeta high quality kappo soy sauce Honzen, a 400-year-old soy sauce manufacturing company, and the first dashi broth made from Rishiri kelp, bonito flakes, and tuna flakes, bring out the natural flavor of the eel.

Besides Unaju, you can also find "Kabayaki set", "Shirayaki set" and "Aimori set" which is half portion of kabayaki and half portion of shirayaki, and "hitsumabushi" which is limited to 20 servings per day on the menu. In addition, they have a wide selection of a la carte eel dishes such as "Umaki", "Kimoyaki (with yolk)" and "Fried Shirayaki."

There are menus unique to an eel specialty restaurant such as "Eel Arai" and "Eel Shabushabu. " Eel Sashimi" is a luxurious dish of chewy eel served with four types of sauce: Honzen soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, sudachi citrus ponzu sauce, and salty sesame oil. You can also have the head and bones fried. Furthermore, the "Eel Shabu-shabu" is a masterpiece in which fatty domestic eels are dipped in a special broth. The rich, flavorful broth brings out the deliciousness of the eel even more.

Edomae Unagi Unasei also offers menus that will brighten up your special occasions. "Shogun Hitsumabushi" (3–4 portions) is perfect for a gathering with your family or friends, or as a treat for yourself. "Daishogun Hitsumabushi" (9–10 portions) is boasting the biggest hitsumabushi in Japan. This high-impact hearty hitsumabushi will make your eating experience an unforgettable one.
You can use Edomae Unagi Unasei for various occasions, from solo diners to families for celebrations for special occasions. Please taste Edomae eels with particular ingredients and cooking methods.
