A Bon Odori mass dance festival revives in 2011 after a 30-year hiatus. Aithough small in scale, attendees can dance to the rhythms of the Nishi-kanda Ondo, a local folk song. In addition to a variety of festival stalls, there will be events like a nagashi somen noodle slide and uchimizu, a traditional custom in which water is sprikled on the ground en masse to create a localized cooling effect. The halftime show is particularly popular―you never know who the mystery performer or performers will be!。
