Hijiri-bashi Bridge spans the Kanda River, 350 meters upstream from Shohei Bridge. At 92 meters long and 22 meters wide, the reinforced concrete bridge connects the Holy Resurrection Cathedral in the south with Yushima Temple to the north. It was built in 1927, as a part of the reconstruction of Tokyo after the Great Kanto Earthquake. The impressive looking arches are among Tokyo’s iconic sights, and became a model for the Kita ward's Otonashi Bridge across the Takino River.
